This part of the Teaching Evaluation will regularly include some general questions concerning the overall study situation and satisfaction of the students. Thus, you will gain some insights into, e.g. how students perceive their faculty with respect to its reputation, its facilitation of particular departments or their student support. Students were also asked about their personal importance of and satisfaction with several key components related their studies and faculty, e.g. the overall quality of lecturers, the practical relevance and the internationalization of their academic education. Also, theresults referring to the students’ academic career, their working situation aswell as to their income are quite noticeable.
The following part of the analysis deals with the important and interesting results about the lecturers of the respective courses. Students were asked not only about a lecturer’s motivation and sympathy, but also about the qualities of their teaching, their abilities to convey sophisticated material and their interest in the students’ scientific and vocational qualification. The information gained hereby was analyzed by using different statistical techniques, such as the so called factor analysis. Thereby, several characteristics of lecturers were discovered as they are obviously essential to students for describing their lecturers.
This part of the reporting will provide you with an exciting insight into how students perceive the different courses of their faculty / university and whether there are essential differences between the distinct lectures, seminars and exercises. This analysis allows for a clear differentiation of the courses for instance with respect to their level of difficulty, their structure and organization, their relation to current topics as well as their level of popularity.
